I think I fell in love with football during the 1987-1988 season, watching that great player I was used to call Marco “Banbasten”.
If I had to think about other “important sporting events”, I could recall May the 24th 1989, when Milan won 4-0 against Steaua Bucharest the so famous Champions League Final; or the following Intercontinental Cup final (when matches were played listening to that unforgettable continuous background sound in Japan) against Atletico National Medellin, defeated at the end of the extra times, with a free kick by Alberigo Evani.
Another decisive moment is May the 12th 1993, when Ac Parma won against Royal Antwerp 3 to 1 in the Cup Winners Cup final played in the old fashioned London’s Wembley.
I decided to become a youth coach to try to transfer to my players, the same passion, the same “Garra”, if we want to talk about it how Argentinias do, together with all the technical or tactical knowledges I have.
The beauty and the effect of this sport, which are not comparable to anyone else, in my opinion, come from I always want to watch football matches and understand the game whether the matches are broadcasted on televisions or they are played on a lost field.
During this long time work, I realized that football is both simple and complicated at the same time, from the school years to the adult first teams seasons. It’s simple because so many coaching methodologies can be suitable for all the players; but it’s so complicated because the goals to look for, are never the same, in any season, team or player (youth or adult).
With my website, I would like to give the coaches, ideas and inputs which can be useful for their exercises and sessions. Many sessions for my U14 and U13 teams will be found during the season. Coaches can come across in all the Italian and english ebooks I produced and published as well as in all the other incoming projects.
